Library at NOE

We welcome back Mrs. Kim Hattis in the role of media tech at North Ohio Elementary School. All students will visit the library each week, where they will be read a story and have the opportunity to check out books. Students in PK-1 leave their checked out books at school, while 2nd and 3rd graders may take them home.

Please note that all books are checked out for one week; students are able to renew longer books with Mrs. Hattis. Please encourage your child to responsibly handle books and return them when they are due. Thank you!

New Year, New (Reading) Goals!

We are excited to continue the "Century Club" for 2023. Any reading minutes count- you can read to your child, have them read to you, or if they are ready, may independently be reading to themselves. We are recognizing the following reading accomplishments:

  • 100 books/logs: certificate and name in the announcements
  • 200 books/logs: book mark and indoor reading pass (we will designate days and times when kids can come to the library, pick out a comfy chair and read or complete a fun reading activity with a peer )
  • 300 books/logs: Principal Read Aloud (with snacks!) in the library
  • over 300 books: students will be entered into a drawing for books, gift cards, and more!

For Your Information:

  • Art with Mrs. McNamara begins at NOE on January 23. Each year, music and art are alternated at the semester. This was NOE's year for a holiday concert; next year we will have a spring sing. More information about our spring art show to follow!
  • If you are in need of a COVID test, there are some available to send home at the NOE office. Please call for more information.

North Ohio Recess

Parents, please consider winter weather conditions and make sure your child has warm outside clothing. All students go outside every day that it is above 0 degrees for a 20- minute recess. If you are in need of support for winter coats, hats, boots or gloves, please contact bolenm@gaylord.k12.mi.us.

January Breakfast and Lunch Menu

Please remember that if your child brings a lunch to school, and wants to add milk, it is $.50.
