Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season with your families. Over the next 2 weeks we will continue to explore the season of winter with a focus on how the effects of winter impact animals. How do animals survive during the winter? Is their behavior different in the winter as compared to the summer? How do they find food? What is hibernation? What is migration? We will explore animals that hibernate. Next week the children will be invited to bring in a stuffed animal to share a hibernation snack before the animals hibernate in our classroom. I will let you know what day to send in the stuffed animal. Some of the books we will read include How Do Birds Find Their Way, Why do Bears Sleep all Winter, Snow is Falling, & Cave Homes.
Please Keep in Mind…
1. Children continue to go outside on a daily basis. Since our classroom tends to be very warm, dressing in layers might be more comfortable for the children.
2. School is closed on Monday, January 18, for Martin Luther King Day.
