Expectations for Students at Graduation
ALL STUDENTS NEED TO BE AT RIT BY 9:15 on 6/30 FOR THE LINE UP!!
1. Respectful behavior. This is a day of celebration for our entire community. All eyes will be upon you. Graduation is a formal event so we want it to be a respectful one and dignified. I expect positive and appropriate behavior for this occasion. Your family wants to be proud of you and expects the same.
2. Dress and act appropriately.
∙ Lightly iron your gown on a cool setting the night before.
∙ No t-shirts, sneakers, shorts, jeans, or flip flops. Sundresses, skirts or dress pants with a nice shirt are preferred. Be careful of the shoes you wear, be comfortable, you don’t want to struggle with super high heels as you cross the stage.
Seniors will not be allowed to participate in graduation in shorts, sneakers or flip flops.
∙ Tassels: Begin with it on one side and move at the end of the ceremony after directed by the Board of Education President.
-Walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy the moment – parents and family want to see you and take pictures – don’t rush !!!
Our community is looking forward to a ceremony that students and families will cherish as memories for a lifetime. For the consideration of all attendees, please do not bring noise makers and be mindful of cell phone etiquette as the ceremony progresses.
