Parent/Guardian - Teacher Conferences

The time is here to plan for our annual conferences. Each year we look forward to this time of year because it gives us a great opportunity to talk with you about strengths and areas of growth for you children. It also allows time for you to share information and provide feedback for us.

Due to COVID-19, this years conferences will be virtual and be conducted via WebEx. The WebEx link that you will need will be available on the main page of the Audubon Website the week we begin conferences.

Conferences are scheduled for the week of October 26th. While the majority of conferences are going to be held the afternoon/evening of October 28 and the full day on the 29th, some teachers have availability earlier in the week as well. So that you can best schedule a time that works for you we are providing an electronic sign-up form for you to choose the best time available. This will also allow you to schedule multiple conferences if you have more than one child at Audubon.

There are conference offerings for all of our grade level teachers along with Specials, Special Education, Mental Health, Teaching and Learning Coach and Mr. Ford. You can choose times to meet with them as well if you would like to have a conversation with them.

The link to sign-up is available by clicking here. You can also go to the Audubon Website to find the link.

School Pictures - October 22nd

We will be having our first round of individual pictures during the day on Thursday, October 22nd. This is an opportunity for students to show that beautiful smile. Given the various protocols that we have to follow to mitigate COVID-19 we will be hosting pictures in the gym so that as students take masks off for their pictures we can ensure social distancing and safety.

You can order photos ahead of time via the electronic portal provided by Lifetouch. The website to order is and the Picture ID Code is EVT36NGPS.

For our Inspire Online families we have scheduled two times for you to come on Thursday as well for your pictures. The times scheduled will allow for you to come and not cross with other students - making sure our cohorts stay intact. The times for you to come are from 8:00 - 8:30 and then again from 11:10 - 12:00. Teachers know that you may miss some class time by coming to the school. To make sure we limit the amount of people coming at one time we ask that you sign-up for the time you would like to come - click here to sign-up.

Anyone coming from the Inspire Online program would be asked to enter through the outside gymnasium doors on the north side of the gym. If we are having poor weather we will make accommodations to have you enter through the front doors.

Please call our office if you have any questions at 719-328-2600.

Monster Mash Dance and Costumes

Audubon has always had a great tradition around the end of quarter 1 by hosting a fun event for students called the "Monster Mash Dance". This is an event that takes place during the students specials time throughout the school day. We are still committed to making this a great event for students even though we have to make some accommodations due to COVID-19.

Along with the Monster Mash Dance we have also started the tradition of allowing students and staff to dress in school appropriate costumes the day of the event. This year it will be on Wednesday, October 28th (the final day prior to conferences). We certainly encourage everyone to dress up if you would like and enjoy the day. A few special considerations to note as you plan for the day include:

  • Cloth facemasks must still be worn with costumes
  • Students should not have face paint on with their costumes
  • Costumes should not be bloody/gory
  • No weapons should come as part of the costume

We look forward to celebrating with our students and community on the 28th and we cannot wait to see those amazing costumes.

School Closings in October

The month of October is always a month full of different schedules due to various reasons. We want to make sure you are aware of upcoming closures to our school that may impact your schedules.

  • October 16 - No School for Students - Teacher Work Day
  • October 19 - Schools Closed - District Furlough Day
  • October 29 and 30 - No School for Students - Parent/Teacher Conferences

Virtual Book Fair

We will be having our annual fall book fair this year in a virtual setting. The link below will allow you to shop this years fair and get items shipped directly to you. Support our Amazing PTA

Audubon is lucky to have an active and supportive PTA that advocates for our students, staff and community. Our PTA sponsors many fun events and activities for our school throughout the school year. Some of the funds raised by our PTA help purchase items such as our water bottle fill station, our new "Welcome to Audubon" rug in the front entry way, support students with supply drives and many other wonderful things.

You can check out some of their amazing work by visiting the Audubon PTA Facebook page and we would encourage you to join our next PTA meeting on November 17th at 4:30 p.m. The meeting will have a virtual and in-person option for attendance. If you ever have questions you can reach out the the PTA directly via email at

Technology Support

If you are ever needing technology support during our remote learning time, or even when we get back to in-person, you can reach out to Mr. Watson. His contact information is:
