*Special Kindergarten Arrival First Two Weeks*

In an effort to ease first day anxieties while maintaining building safety, Kindergarten and Young Five staff members will be meeting their students outside the building near our main entrance. These staff members will have signs with Kindergarten and Young Five teacher names. Students will then follow the appropriate staff member to their classroom. This procedure is in effect for August 24 through September 1.

Y5 / Kindergarten

Arrival: Starting September 6, Kindergarten and Young Five students will enter through the main entrance and walk to their classrooms. Staff will be stationed throughout the building to help students get to their classrooms. Parents are welcome to utilize the curbside drop off or park in the parking lot and walk their student to the main entrance. *Please see above for special arrival instructions for August 24-September 1.

Dismissal: Parents/guardians will need to park their vehicle in a marked parking space and then proceed inside the building to the GYM. Parents will then show their identification to their respective teacher/cohort teacher.

* During extreme weather this may occur under the awning at the main entrance and the students will be brought out to them.

First Grade

Our goal is to get every student in our building safely and keep the cars off from Lansing Avenue.

If everyone can do the following we can achieve this.

  • Have your student ready to exit the vehicle on the passenger side.
  • Do not park or leave your car in the fire/drop off lane.
  • Pull forward to the car in front of you to utilize every inch of the sidewalk.
  • Use the crosswalk. This keeps you safe and allows the cars to pull down and utilize the entire sidewalk.
  • If you get to school before 8:25 a.m. park in the parking lot until you see staff in the high visibility vests.

Thank you for your patience and attention to safety!

For safety and security parents will not be allowed to escort their student to their classroom.
