Principal's Report
Year in Review
I want to extend a sincere thanks to faculty/staff members, parents, students, community members, and other district employees who have contributed so much to make the 2018-2019 school year a tremendous success! Oakview Elementary School continues to set itself apart as a leader in the district, state and nation as we work together for the children we serve. This year, parent and community volunteers logged thousands of hours supporting the students at Oakview Elementary. Our faculty and staff implemented our personalized learning devices, staged Aladdin, Jr., began work on updating our Nature Trail, and so much more! Our school and its students and teachers received awards and grants from local, district, state and national organizations recognizing our efforts in academic/artistic achievement, volunteering, and teacher professional service! Again, these success stories could only happen through the joint efforts of everyone at the school! Thank you ALL! #OnlyAtOakivew
Teacher Assignments for 2019-2020
Letters requesting a certain teacher for next year are not accepted. We ask that parents allow the school staff to make professional judgments with respect to student placements. Letters containing the following information will immediately be discarded: 1) naming a teacher, 2) requesting an experienced teacher or a new teacher, and 3) requesting that certain students be in the same/different classes (with the exception of twins, triplets, etc.). Thank you for supporting the process of teacher assignments as we work with the many students here at Oakview Elementary School.
Summer Office Hours/Registration
We will keep summer office hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We are closed on Fridays. If you or someone you know needs to register a student for next year, please come by ASAP! Information regarding registration can be found on our website.

BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO THE BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM!
Dear families,
Over the summer you'll begin seeing some participating brands change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new digital Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team is hard at work building the NEW-and-improved, user friendly Box Tops mobile app that will be ready this summer.
As they transition from the old Box Tops and the new digital ones, please make sure you continue to clip & save the paper Box Tops to send in to school in the Fall. Better yet, once the new app launches, you can "double dip" during the packaging transition by clipping the traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products!

Thank you, as always for your support of Oakview and the Box Tops for Education program! We continue to be one of the top collecting schools in the state and we couldn't do it without you!
Happy Summer!
