SHOUT OUTS!
Thank you to our cafeteria staff for keeping our kids safe by preparing our grab and go breakfasts each day and taking lunches to the classroom.
Thank you to our custodial staff for the EXTRA sanitation required to keep us safe!
Thank you to our ESPs for monitoring our students all day every day and making it happen from the lunchroom to the hallway to the classroom.
Thank you to our front office staff for making sure all adults are screened and taking care of the needs of our parents, teachers, and students.
Important Information
- Christine Peterson will be available on September 2nd to address any digital learning questions you may have.
- Pamela Lathinghouse will be here to support you on September 2nd and 3rd.
- Follow ALL Safety Guidelines and Procedures we have discussed in our Re-Opening Plan: Screenings, social distancing, masks, frequent hand washing, seating charts for classroom, lines, and lunches. Remember that WE are modeling the expectations placed on our students. Perception is REALITY. If you do not have soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, microfiber cloth, and sanitizing spray, let us know immediately.
- Student Masks: Continue to remind students to wear their masks during transitions - especially dismissal. All bus riders are required to wear a mask. If a bus rider does not have a mask, provide one for them. We have plenty in the office.
- If you feel a student needs to be screened, please call the front office and Nurse Rosemary will assist.
- ATTENDANCE: Attendance should be entered into FOCUS before 8:30 a.m.
- Bus Information: Send bus notes up front every morning and give the signed note back to the students so that the bus driver will have it.
DIAGNOSTIC SCREENERS
- Administer the LETRS Spelling Screener to all students in grades K-5
- Administer the PAST: Phonological Awareness Screener Test to all Tier 2/3 students in grades 1-5. You may administer the PAST to all students if you want.
- Once the screeners are complete, the question is "What do I do with my assessment results?' The attached document gives you the answers to that question.
INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS
quote for the week
Ask yourself:
- Reflect on how you learned to read and who influenced your reading development.
- How does your teaching today reflect the teachers in your past?
- What do you hope your students will do that reflects your teaching?
Lesson Links
- Ask students how learning and teaching are alike.
- Have them describe themselves as learners.
- Have students identify some things that teachers do to help them learn.
