8th Grade Team

One of our 8th grade teams is taught by Chris Gaza (Science and Social Studies), John Paul Simons (Math and Project Lead The Way), and Katy Thompson (Balanced Literacy). They are so excited to meet their students and to have a great year. In their spare time, Gaza likes mountain climbing, playing disc golf, and playing his Xbox One. Simons loves spending his time with his big family or playing his bass guitar; he also loves to read and cook. Thompson loves spending her time watching movies, being with her dog and family, and catching up with friends. Both Gaza and Thompson are new teachers to Lane, and, alongside Simons, can’t wait to see what this year will bring!

Principal's Message

Hello Families!

School is definitely in full swing and Wisconsin hasn't decided whether it wants to be dry, wet, warm, cold or windy. Please remember to help your child pack in layers and have options in their bag with how quickly the weather can change in a given day.

The PTA kicked off their first fundraiser of the year on Wednesday, Sept 11. You should have received information come home with your child about Hansen’s Pizza.

Thank to everyone that attended open house. It was fun to see parents interacting in community circles and participating in staff led activities. I loved hearing the parent laughter in the halls.

Continue to read the S’more newsletter for updates and information about Lane.

Schedules

Schedule changes for first semester will not be made after Friday September 13th.

Students -- Morning Routine

In looking at traffic patterns of students, we have made some morning adjustments.

Students that would like to have breakfast can enter the cafe doors at 7:20am. They can sit and have a meal. They will be released to classes at 7:35am.

After 7:35am, students will be offered a grab and go breakfast and they will be moving on to class, so everyone can start on time at 7:45 am.

Students that are not eating will proceed to their designated locations. They will be entering the building at 7:35 am. These locations will have grade level teachers present to assist students.

6th grade:

Students will enter the building via the north end doors.

7th grade:

Students will enter the building via the garden doors.

8th grade:

Students will enter the building via the cafe doors.

All students are expected to be in classes and ready to learn by 7:45 am.

In the case of inclement weather, 6th grade students can enter the building and wait in the main gym, and 7th and 8th grade students can enter the building and wait in the auxiliary gym. If students would like to eat breakfast, they will be sitting in cafe.
