WINTER DRIVING SAFETY TIPS
PROCEED WITH CAUTION
See and Be Seen!
Use your headlights
Keep your lights and windshield clean
Drive for conditions – Slower speeds, slower acceleration.
No Cruising - Avoid using cruise control!
Watch for black ice when approaching intersections, off-ramps, bridges, underpasses, or shady spots.
High snow banks and snowy or foggy conditions can diminish visibility making other vehicles, pedestrians and children playing difficult to see.
Be extra cautious when approaching chain-up/removal areas.
Don’t Crowd the Plow!
Space Out! Allow extra distance.
Brake early and slowly.
If you slide, use extreme caution if you get out of your car - others could be sliding too.
