WINTER DRIVING SAFETY TIPS

PROCEED WITH CAUTION

  • See and Be Seen!

    • Use your headlights

    • Keep your lights and windshield clean

  • Drive for conditions – Slower speeds, slower acceleration.

  • No Cruising - Avoid using cruise control!

  • Watch for black ice when approaching intersections, off-ramps, bridges, underpasses, or shady spots.

  • High snow banks and snowy or foggy conditions can diminish visibility making other vehicles, pedestrians and children playing difficult to see.

  • Be extra cautious when approaching chain-up/removal areas.

  • Don’t Crowd the Plow!

  • Space Out! Allow extra distance.

  • Brake early and slowly.

  • If you slide, use extreme caution if you get out of your car - others could be sliding too.
