A1 Turtles Update
Week 18 - January 8th
We continue to learn about weather. The kids were so excited to see their friends after the long break! We have begun a new math topic. We are now working on shapes. Please continue to encourage your kids to practice their math facts and read over the winter break. They can make flash cards, play games with numbers or enjoy a math app. I have included the link about our current math topic. We will have our last PE class with Mrs. Smith this week. The following week we will start our dance unit. Thank you so much for all of your support in and out of the classroom. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday break with your family! I loved seeing the kids after the two week break :)
This week's homework will include math from topic 5.4 (shapes), and a Shape walk project. The Shape walk project will be due Tuesday, January 19th. Please have them bring their blue homework bag with their completed homework on Friday each week. It is very important to help your child learn how to be responsible with their homework and be on time.
This week we will hear personal narratives. Please have your child tell about what they did over the winter break. The kids did a thoughtful job of writing about why it is important to give. We have created a mitten tree for now until they are donated. Their day is written on their folder. As I talked about on Back to School night, the kids need to be ready to present on their assigned day. If they are sick, they can present when they return. This is a great opportunity for them to gain confidence speaking in front of their peers.
*Jan. 15th - Sports Day
