Happy Sunday Pirates,

It was an exciting week at Swansboro High School! We hosted our junior class ring ceremony, the spring guitar concert, the HOSA blood drive, the Swansboro Rotary Scholarship banquet, the EC Prom and we closed out our 2022/2023 athletic seasons with the final ladies soccer game in the first round of playoffs and the state track and field championship. Congratulations to Andrew Fevang and Dorothy Puttbach, our EC Prom King and Queen.

Congratulations to our rotary scholars who were honored on Thursday night at the scholarship banquet. They included Ben Young, Amber Matthews, Hailey Griffin, Connie Pearce, Isabella Fox, Alanna Ulin and Andi Weir. Congatulations also to Jessica Burch for being recognized as a 2022/2023 Excellence in Education Teaching Award recipient.

In athletics, we would like to congratulate Lisa Ferguson who placed 3rd in the state championship in the high jump and McKenna Panos who placed 2nd in the pole vault. Kaylan Landry was selected for the USA Lacrosse National Team and will be representing North Carolina at the tournament next weekend.

This week at Swansboro High School will include senior spirit week, the freshmen academy field trip and the Navigating Towards Excellence award ceremony on Tuesday. Our spring band concert will be held on Thursday and our final guitar concert on Friday. Friday is also our senior walk at our feeder schools and we will host our final lockdown drill of the year with students. We are in our final stretch with only 10 days before final exams. Students will participate in an exam information homeroom on Monday. Please review the dates and times of final exams with your student on Monday evening to ensure they understand the dates, times and locations of final exams.
