Guidance Lessons this Month

This month we focused on making healthy choices in celebration of Red Ribbon Week.

This year’s Red Ribbon Week theme is "Send A Message. Stay Drug Free." The

theme is a call to action to speak out in support of healthy choices. When others see that

we are living a healthy, drug free lifestyle, they may become inspired to do the same. During the guidance lessons students traced their hand and took a stand. These hands created our large red ribbon to show that Julian Harris is Healthy & Drug Free.

Dress Up Day and Safety Tips

Students may dress up on Thursday to show school spirit for Austin's Spook Athens game! Here are the guidelines:

No masks, weapons, scary costumes, heavy face paint and nothing inappropriate. We want the students to have fun but also be safe and considerate of others.

Here is a fun song to help remember safety tips if you go Trick or Treating on Thursday!

Building a Home- School Team

Research shows that when home and school form a strong team, kids learn more and are more successful in school.

Here are some tips to help build a home-school team:

  • Talk with your child about school each day.
  • Talk about the importance of working hard & doing your best.
  • Have a regular time for homework each day.
  • Make sure your child gets to school on time each day.
  • Read with your child every day.
