Happy New Year! Welcome back!

Character Word of the month-EMPATHY

This month we will have a focus on empathy. We will discuss what it means to be able to understand how someone else is feeling. Being able to put yourself in their shoes and seeing things from their view. This is a trait that even adults have a hard time with so we hope that we are able to instill this quality in our students.

Second Semester

Ready or not here we go! Second semester is here and we have five months to move the needle of excellence for our students. I can't wait to see the great things our students accomplish this semester. The academic rigor and expectations will increase as we move to this new semester. I have no doubt that our students will excel!

It will go by fast and there is a lot to do! It is important that students are here each day and on time!

Lost and Found

I decided to not send the lost and found items to be donated just yet. I will give students and parents next week to look through lost and found prior to making the donation. We have a lot of coats and jackets along with water bottles and other items in the lost and found.

Remember to label items so that we are able to return to the rightful owner!

Code of Conduct Review

On Monday Mr. Walker and I will be reviewing the code of conduct with our students during PE. We have also asked the teachers to review these expectations as well. Now would be a good time to remind your students about appropriate school talk and remind them that threats will not be tolerated. The students have done much better with this, this year but I wanted to remind everyone. We are fortunate to have Mrs. McCoy our in school intervention teacher to help with social/emotional small groups as well as in school suspension as needed.

Important Reminders

School starts at 7:55. Students must be in their classrooms by 7:55 or they are counted tardy. Please plan accordingly.

DO NOT drop off in the parking lot. You may find a parking spot, park and walk your student to the sidewalk.

No check outs after 2:15. Remember check outs count as tardys in the elementary world.
