Kenai Alternative High School

Principal's Corner with Kyle McFall

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope you all enjoyed your summer and were able to relax and rejuvenate. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 16th. Please feel free to contact the office if you have any questions or concerns regarding intake interviews, registration, schedules, bussing, etc.

As a new principal, I am excited to be part of the Kenai Alternative High School family. This school and staff has a great reputation and works hard to support their students. Our theme this year is "Run With The Pack" - encouraging students and staff to fully embrace the family environment that has been established at Kenai Alternative. We want all of our students to be successful and in order to do so, we must support one another throughout the educational process. The school year can be full of challenges, but together we can overcome these obstacles and pursue excellence.

For our students, the start of the new year is full of possibilities. We are excited to support them on their journey and are humbled by the community support we continue to receive. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

New Rotation Schedule

KAHS now offers six rotations during the school year. The move to six rotations creates better alignment with our partner schools' traditional calendars. Now, the end of the third rotation is at the same time as the end of the first semester for Kenai Central, Nikiski, and Soldotna High School.

In addition, the addition of another rotation allows KAHS to offer student 10.5 credit opportunities in a school year. This is extremely valuable to upperclassmen who have fallen behind and still want to graduate on time with their fellow classmates.
