STAAR TEST-CLOSED CAMPUS

In order to maintain a secure testing environment, Harmony School of Technology will be a closed campus from 7:20 am - 2:40 am on the dates listed above.
Please note that this applies to all breakfast and lunch visitors, volunteers, and/or other campus/classroom visitors for all grade levels on testing days.
Please make sure that your students get enough sleep and eat a nice breakfast as well as be at the Technology campus no later than 7:35.
The STAAR testing will take place for 5th, 7th, and 8th graders.
We appreciate your understanding of this practice and your continued support of our STAAR Leaders, especially on assessment days!
Some tips for our HST testers!
1. Get a good night's sleep.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast.
3. Dress comfortably. (bring a jacket, if it is cold in the class.)
4. Start your day peacefully.
5. Arrive on time and take your time, no need to rush on the test!
6. Think positive thoughts. Have confidence in yourself.
7. Always read the directions carefully!!
8. Do your BEST!!!

Safety Reminders for Dismissal
Safety Reminders for Dismissal
- Drive carefully and Stay off your cell phones.
- Please, do NOT load on the feeder. Pull into the driveway and load your vehicle.
- Always have your dismissal placards visible in your car during dismissal.
- Due to safety reasons, please DO NOT walk up to pick up the students! Please stay in your cars and drive the dismissal path.
- Remind your child to listen for their names and pay attention to their cars.
- Reminder for dismissal, after 3:20 students will be in Building B for pick up not Building A.

Real Madrid Campus Experience & Madrid-Toledo Trip 2019
Program highlights
· First-come, first-served basis, ONLY 25 seats available
· Only rising 9-12 grade (14-17 years old) boys and girls
· Application form and $600 deposit must be made no later than February 1, 2019
· Trip cost $3400 includes airfare, accommodation, transportation, 3 meals per day, guided tours, park & museum fees.
· Payment plan is available. Last payment must be paid by June 1, 2019

Harmony Public Schools - Alternate Meals Policy
ATTENTION: Students are not allowed to purchase a la carte items if their account has a $0 or negative balance. If they are purchasing a milk, we will allow them one charge as a courtesy. The Lunch Clerk will inform the student and parent that there must be funds in the meal account for a la carte purchases. The next attempt to purchase a la carte items will be denied until the account shows a positive balance.
The district charge limit applies to reimbursable meals only and not a la carte purchases.

CLEAR BACKPACK
In an effort to improve the safety measures currently in place, HSOT requires all school students to use clear backpacks for the 2019-2020 school year.

You Art What You Eat Student Art Contest
DA’s You Art What You Eat art contest engages students K-12 in learning about healthy nutrition by encouraging them to use their imagination and illustrate healthy school meals while also incorporating TDA's provided theme. The winning entries inspire designs for cafeteria posters, social media ads, flyers, and other resources that schools across Texas will use for celebrating National School Lunch Week and School Breakfast Week.
Contest Overview
- Students will incorporate school lunch or breakfast items into their artwork.
- Winners will be chosen from
- Primary (Kindergarten - 5th grade)
- Secondary (6th grade - 12th grade)
- Winners will be announced in September 2019.
