Our Path Note Topic
Be Proud Of Yourself For... (Dr. Tom Butler, IU8)
- Saying no.
- Choosing forgiveness.
- Allowing yourself to rest.
- Respecting your boundaries.
Most of us have been raised in a culture of "work martyrdom." We judge our self-worth on the amount of work (and the number of hours) we put in a week. In bad cases, we even judge others by their "work ethic." When I came to the IU there were those in positions of leadership that would keep track of who left work on time and judged them negatively if they left work on time. In 2021, that attitude is just not acceptable.
Don't become a martyr of work.
Every day, find at least one thing to look at in wonder and be curious.
Remember--A key to innovation is curiosity.

Piece of the Puzzle
This Week's Piece of the Puzzle is Deborah Forrester. After looking into the stats, she has really taken care of a lot of families!
Deb has been a huge asset to the Waynesboro Area School District since she was hired in August of 2018. In that time she has helped streamline the process of centralized enrollment by meeting with and guiding families through their transition into the Waynesboro Area School District. In total Deb has successfully helped 1,607 families get through the door, not including an average class of 300+ who come each year during WASD's annual Kindergarten Registration. This year alone, Deb has enrolled 390 learners and counting. Deb always goes above and beyond to uphold the district in a very positive light and she will go out of her way to help anyone however she can when they reach a point in the process where they are stuck. She also was able to handle registration changes amongst the pandemic effortlessly. In addition to her role as the District Registrar she also manages the WASD website making sure all of the pertinent news is available to the community. Sometimes you can also see her smile behind the Clayton Avenue front desk when she is helping out with coverage.
Thank you for being the welcoming arms for WASD and when you see Deb, please congratulate her on being the Piece of the Puzzle.
