AASL is a national organization that has established a program for the teaching and learning professions to be proactive to current issues, anticipatory of future trends, guiding our students, empowering them in the 21st Century.

After years of research and study, the AASL created extensive program guidelines and learning for life plans that defines the future direction of school library programs. Going beyond the basics to provide goals, priorities, criteria and general principles for establishing these through numerous websites and links.
