Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
September 10, 2023
Happy Grandparents' Day!
Dear BES Families,
Boy, there seems to be a lot to tell you about each week!! I hope the table of contents helps you to see quickly what I'm covering in the newsletter. Great job by our 5th graders on Friday night! They were awesome with the LHS Marching Band!
We are gearing up for our American Heart Association Kids' Heart Challenge. Coach Whiting teaches CPR every year to our students and his efforts have been an example used throughout our area, state, and country by the American Heart Association. We have even been gifted with enough adult and infant CPR manikins for all students to learn and practice. Please take a moment to read about it in Coach's Corner and watch the quick 2 minute video. You just never know when we will be called upon to save a life and be there in an emergency. We begin now, but our official CPR unit is not until February. Watch for more information and emails!
Volunteer training is on the calendar! We have three dates coming up, you can see below in the Upcoming Dates! section. This is required for any adult interested in a supervisory role. This includes helping run stations or games at parties, attending field trips, or just volunteering in our schools with students. It is a quick 10 minute training and we do ask for your permission to run a simple background check. If you have any questions, please reach out to me!
I want to give a big thank you to our grandparents! We have many that help with drop-offs, pick-ups, homework, and much more! We have 2 Foster Grandparents and we love having them in our school! Thank you to Grandma Frankie and Grandma Jean for always helping out - they help our students and our staff!
Let's have a GREAT week!
Cindy Apple, Principal

Coach Whiting's Corner!
Our school is getting ready to kick off the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge (KHC)! This year, we are working to help all our students, staff and families learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR. It’s easy to learn and even our youngest students can play a part by calling 911 and finding a trusted adult. And, as always, we will all be learning how to take care of our hearts and minds, while helping raise funds for kids with special hearts!
Join us by signing up today! Download the AHA Schools app or visit http://www2.heart.org/goto/broadmoor.
Get started on FINN’S MISSION where you and your family can help create a community of lifesavers by learning Hands-Only CPR!
WHY Kids Heart Challenge? Phil is WHY.... Broadmoor Wildcats are WHY!
Phil isn’t a heart survivor… he saved a life
because he completed Finn’s Mission.

Blessings In A Backpack
Louisburg USD #416 participates in a local Blessings in a Backpack program. The program is designed to provide non-perishable food every Friday to children that would benefit from supplemental nourishment over the weekend. The program runs throughout the school year and there is no cost to participate.
If you would like your child/children to participate and receive a BIB bag, please click the link below and complete the brief form for EACH child in your household that you would like to sign up. Distribution will begin the week following labor day and will be handled in a discreet & caring manner. Each bag will include: 2 breakfast items, 1 piece of fruit, a snack item and 2 entrée items.
BES Wish List
We have been asked about a schoolwide wish list. We put some hot ticket items, some incentive items, and more items that our teachers would love to have to help students in fun, meaningful ways. We will add to it throughout the year. Thank you for your support and generosity!
