Efficacy
I was reflecting on my way home about the line of progression and our sense of efficacy. I observed in my group a couple of things. 1. When we were handed our problems we felt good because they were ELA based, and even though diagramming sentences was difficult we stuck to it (I am guessing because our own sense of efficacy was high). 2. As soon as we turned the page to math, we all stepped back from the problem, like physically went from a tight knit group working an ELA problem, to a group of women who did not want to be responsible for the math (thank you Inga and Julie). My reasoning for our change in behavior was that we lacked efficacy in math to begin with, so there for we gave up easily.
I wonder about our experiences and how it connects to our students. The idea of grit, or growth mindset, is important especially for students who do not have a strong sense of efficacy in a subject, or in school in general. This is something for us to think on and an idea we can share with our students as well.
I think I have a "S'more" problem. I made another S'more to capture our teacher led professional development. It contains what we did and some images to capture our time together. I also added resources used by the team:)

TTESS Pre-conference Form
As we are finishing up our goal setting confernces, we can begin looking forward to TTESS observations. Below is the Pre-conference lesson planning form you will use during your TTESS Pre-conference. It also looks similar to last year, but we adjusted a few questions to ponder so they align better with our Problem of Practice and Instructional Focus.
