APPETIZER Physical Feature ( Mount Everest)
One physical feature is Mount Everest and it is located in Nepal. Nepal is a landlocked country the size of Arkansas, lying between India and the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China. Mount Everest is related to people because it is literally a tourist attraction to many people worldwide. It is a famous mountain peak because it stands 29,035 feet above sea level and is the tallest mountain in the world. There are two people that have been the first people to climb all the way to the top of Mt. Everest and those people are Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. It is related to places because it is part of a famous mountain range called the Himalayas Mountain Range. That is a place that people visit all the time. It is related to environment because when people climb this mountain it isn't as easy as a stroll in the park, it takes a lot of preparation due to the harsh conditions. Everest is an extremely inhospitable place. Temperatures at the top are typically around 36 degrees celsius below zero and in the winter it can drop to as low as 60 degrees celsius below zero. Temperatures only rise to an average of 18 degrees below zero during the warmest part of the summer. The monsoon storms make Everest insurmountable during this period, The jet stream buffets the top of Everest with hurricane force winds for much of the year. There are a lot more conditions with the environment on Mount Everest, but then I would be talking forever. So, that is information on Mount Everest.
