Ms. O's Message

Happy Thanksgiving Quetzal Families,

I hope that you and your family have a magnificent, safe holiday break. Take this time to enjoy all the wonderful things around us: our family, our health, our jobs, our friends, and any other aspect of your life that you are grateful for. Our Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow, November 25. Classes will resume on November 30. Please join us at our Cafecitos the week we come back from break.

Remember to stay safe and review best practices suggested by by Santa Clara County Public Health:

  • Have dinner only with people you live with (your household)

  • Have a virtual dinner with friends and family

  • Watch sports, parades, events, and movies from home

  • Prepare traditional recipes and drop them off for neighbors and family

  • Avoid travel for Thanksgiving

“Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” Henri Frederic Amiel

Have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving!

Ms. Olaciregui

Principal

LAMV PTA Council and SELPA 1 CAC present Distance Learning Toolkit: Increasing Focus Through a Sensory Lens

Thursday December 3, 7-8:30 PM. A talk with Lisa Kaplan Shanaan, MS OTR/L TMHP

How do you stay engaged? How do you calm down when excited, or pep up when you are zoned out? You may know your own body and the tricks that work for you, but children are still working this out. It is especially difficult to learn self-regulation when involved in distance learning on screens for hours a day. Come learn from Lisa Kaplan Shaanan, an occupational therapist and trainer, who has been working with children birth thru 18 years old for more than 30 years. She will recommend tools and techniques useful to help all children discover their best ways to self-regulate and really learn and stay engaged during the Zoom school day.
