Meet the Cheetahs & Beyond~Action Required by ALL Staff to mark your calendars

Meet the Cheetahs & Beyond formerly known as Meet & Greet) will occur on July 7, 2016 for tracks 1, 2, & 3. Track 4 will occur on July 28, 2016. My expectation is all staff is present for these events and the PTA meeting. Times are as follows:

  • PTA General Meeting-5:00-5:30

  • Session 1-5:35-6:20

  • Transition-6:20-6:30

  • Session 2: 6:30-7:15

The AA (previously OSP) days for 2016-2017 school year have been confirmed by the district. July 7, 2016 is the dates that Central Services staff will schedule updates and collaborative sessions with different groups.

Information from PTA

The PTA would like to thank you for all of your support in making this year one of the most successful we have had. Our book fair sales far exceeded any we've had previously, we hit Boosterthon out of the park, the kids had a great time at the Health Fair, we started improvements in the book room, we updated some technology, we finished the tire space outside, the Talent Show was said to be the best ever... the list goes on. We need your help to continue this success. We are struggling to fill our board positions and chair positions for next year. As teachers, you get to know the parents who are in your classroom and helping around the school. You know who is dependable and easy to work with. Those are the people we need in some leadership roles. Could you take a minute to send us the name of anyone you think might be a good fit to chair an event or to be a part of the board for next year? We are especially looking for a General VP, some at large positions, nominating committee members and potentially VP's of Fundraising, Service and Programs. Contact the president, Judy Dillman.

Kindergarten Orientation

Our orientation for new kindergarten families (2016-2017) will be May 26th at 5:30pm. The session for parents will be held in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:00pm (maybe 6:15pm) followed by a short tour of the building/visiting classrooms. We need your help! Some of the rising kindergarten students will come with their families and we need volunteers to provide childcare in the media center from 5:15pm - approximately 7pm (probably done earlier than this). If you are willing to assist us, please complete the sign-up using the link below. (If you need make-up hours, this will count!) Click on the link HERE to sign up to help!

EOG Dates

Our EOG dates have been finalized for the end of the year. I am sending out information to parents with informational dates, etc. We are almost there and this will go to all families. In the meantime, you can share these dates, publicize them on your website, and share with parents how important it is that children are here. It is imperative that staff are here. Mark your calendars now as I expect staff to be present! The testing dates can be found HERE.

Letterland Day @ Pullen Park~ACTION REQUIRED FOR ALL TEACHERS (SEND HOME FLYERS-May 6th, tracks 1, 2, 4) Track 3 will get yours on workdays and send home, Thursday, May 12th.

Our 3rd Annual Letterland at Pullen Park event is coming up on Saturday, May 14th. The flyers found HERE and HERE were copied and placed in your boxes to send home in Friday's folders targeting your Prek-2nd grade families. Talk with your students about this day sharing that they can meet Annie Apple, Bouncy Ben, and Clever Cat in person! They can join the parade and take part in various activities including Munching Mike's Bean Bag Toss, Noisy Nick's Playground, Tea with Quarrelsome Queen, meet Fire Fighter Fred in his firetruck, and make their very own Kicking King and Quarrelsome Queen's crown. It is the largest community-wide literacy event hosted by WCPSS-Literacy, Sinclair Broadcasting, and Raleigh Parks and Recreation. Please help us get the message out to families! If you would like to volunteer for the event, please fill in our volunteer sign-up form.
