The Life of Mozart

Wolfgang was a child prodigy; at the age of five he composed a minuet, and played both the harpsichord and the violin. He performed for the Viennese at the age of six. Mozart created his first symphony at age nine. He composed over 600 pieces in his short life including symphony's, sonatas, concertos, operas, dance music and masses. Mozart married Constanze in 1781, they had 6 children but only 2 of them survived to adult hood. Mozart was only 35 when he died on December 5th, 1791, he had rheumatic fever and died penniless.

Where Mozart lived

Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria, on January 27, 1756. He died in Vienna, Austria, on December 5th, 1791 at the age of 35. When Mozart was young he would go on European concert tours, and he would perform for Queen Marie Antoinette of France and King George III of England.

Mozart's full name was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Theophilus Mozart.

Legend has it that at the age of two, he recognized a pigs squeal as a G sharp.

Mozart actually learned how to write musical notes before he learned how to write words. He also later became very interested in mathematics. When he wasn't studying music, Mozart loved math, and used chalk to write all over his bedroom walls and furniture.
