AHES Panther News
2021 Connection: October 22, 2021
Anaheim Hills Elementary School
Panther Families,
We had a great week at AHES with students and staff! U.S. News identified Anaheim Hills Elementary School as a U.S. News Best Elementary School! You can find more information below.
Parents, please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe for our students and staff. Please stay in your cars during drop-off and arrival. We have staff available to assist students during arrival and dismissal. Our parking lot crosswalks are closed during arrival and dismissal to ensure safety. Parents, please do not park and walk across the parking lot with your child. For our walking families, please use the designated walking locations for drop-off and pick-up. Thank you for your help!
Also, please help us continue a positive relationship with the condo association next door to our school. We have received reports that our families are blocking the condo's gate exit and entrance. Please remember that the condo circle or property is not to be used for the drop-off or pick-up of students. Please help us in following this practice to keep all safe. Thank you!
Please see below for this week's updates. Have a great weekend!
Best,
Mrs. Van Wilgen Moore
Principal

AHES Named a U.S. News Best Elementary School

Here’s a look at what they published about our school, including its new ranking(s): https://www.usnews.com/education/k12/california/badge-eligible-school-234768.
We are excited to receive another accolade for the work that our staff, students, and community do each day at AHES!

PTA Volunteer Guidelines - Updated OUSD Procedures
OUSD is now allowing a very limited number of parents onto campuses to do work for parent organizations. Volunteers are not allowed in the classroom or with students yet. Parent volunteers must complete the HR paperwork before coming onto campus.
OUSD will look at the success of these volunteers and then assess adding more volunteers for classroom/student help for trimester 2. OUSD wants us to limit the number of volunteers on campus to no more than five at this time.
Vaccinations are required to start the process and be cleared as a volunteer to comply with CDPH guidance for volunteers.
For our PTA executive board/chairs/volunteers who are in need of campus access for copies or organizing things for a PTA related purpose in the campus workroom, please complete the proper form below:
Volunteer Forms Over 5 hours per week
Volunteer Forms Under 5 hours per week
Once a PTA volunteer is approved, please email AnaheimHillsPrincipal@orangeusd.org to get your essential PTA volunteer visit to the workroom approved and scheduled on our volunteer calendar.
Thank you!
