VIPS TEAM
Thank you to the many parents that attended the VIPS Breakfast on September 14th. For those who have signed up to volunteer, you will be contacted soon.
*If you have any questions regarding volunteering, please e-mail Jordan Griffith at vips1@blackpto.net or Angela Oostdyk at vips2@blackpto.net. We are happy to answer any of your questions.
From Secretary
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We cannot wait to see you in our library. We are always looking for volunteers to help our kids, our Library and Mrs. Lenk. Once you sign up, come for your shift and we will give you some on-the-job training! It's not difficult, I promise. Your own personal children will never forget that you were there to help their school.
You do not have to volunteer during your child's library time- but you can. For some kiddos, it might actually be better if you don't help during their time... if they get sad when you separate from them, you might want to work different shift. That's up to you!
If you cannot stay for the duration of your shift, we understand. Please come and stay as long as you can- we can always use the help.
We look forward to meeting/ seeing you in the library! Please contact the library volunteer chair, Melissa Palomarez or Mrs. Lenk if you have any questions.
Melissa Palomarez- library@blackpto.net
Mrs. Lenk, Black Elementary Librarian- julie.lenk@cfisd.net
From the Library Chair:
Hello Black Elementary parents and potential library volunteers! I just wanted to tell you about my experience as a library volunteer. I have been helping in the library on and off for a few years now and this is my first year as the library chair. Working in the library has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had in any volunteer position I've held. I've spent most of my volunteer hours not even working with my own children's class times because I truly enjoy it that much. Spending hours surrounded by books, and the awesome Bearkats who adore the books, has been such a beautiful opportunity that I really hope most parents will get a chance to experience. We hope you will join us as we share the joy of books with the amazing '20-'21 Black Elementary students!
Lenk.
Melissa Palomarez- library@blackpto.net
Sra.
