The Japanese was broken in pieces, but the private companies did not give up. The private companies decided to borrow money from the banks to help them grow, which ended up in a success. That was a huge help for the Japanese economy.

The other thing that helped the economy was the annual loan from the U.S of $500 million which continued for 5-10 years.
