A quick look at great technology to make your life easier
Using Photos in the Classroom
Photos can be a great classroom tool. There are many great ways to use photos in your class to help get students engaged in learning.
Don't forget: The NMS library has digital cameras and SD card readers available for check out.
About Me
At the beginning of the year, have students hold a sign telling something about themselves and snap a picture. Create a class collage and display them around the room. Use them are writing prompts throughout the school year.
Selfie Project
Have students create digital selfies and then have them write an essay that describes their individuality.
Classroom Rules Memes
Have a little fun with your rules by creating memes to go along with them. Students could create memes about book characters too.
Inferential Images
Use photos to teach students how we make inferences. Have students work in small groups to make observations, discuss background knowledge and make inferences.
Writing prompts
Use pictures for great writing prompts. This would especially work great for RACE assignments. Have students write a descriptive, narrative or informative essay using a pictures as a starting point.
Create photo timelines
Have students use a free timeline-creator tool to create biographical or historical timelines.
The possibilities are endless!
