ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments of California)
ELPAC season is just around the corner. The testing window opens on February 1 and closes on May 31st. There are several resources avaialble to students, teachers, and parents on the ELPAC website. Under resources you can find domain descriptors (initial and summative), technology readiness checker, resources for site level staff to share/ discuss the ELPAC assessments, as well as paper pencil practice tests, or access to online practice tests, and many more resources. If you have never looked at the elpac.org website I highly encourage you to take a look at numerous educational supports available. Exposing students to practice questions and examinig the types of questions the assessment demands can support student's performance on the ELPAC as well as develop their language fluency. Check it out.

Do you know who your McKinney-Vento Students are?
Based on last year's data our McKinney-Vento Students scores declined in math and ELA. McKinney-Vento students maintained in ELA (English Language Arts) by 2.2 points but declined a performane band, going from an orange to red. In math Mc-Kinney Vento students maintianed level (in the red band), but declined by 19 points in Math. This might raise the question: do you know who your McKinney-Vento (homeless) Students are? You can check the status of your students in Aeries, as each McKinney-Vento Student is tagged (red flag). What types of educational supports can we offer students so that every student everyday has the opportunity to be successful? (LCAP Goals 2, 3, & 6)
