Monday Memo
August 7, 2017
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. -Vince Lombardi
Over the next few weeks, we know we will have several people in and out of the building. While that is not expected of you, we certainly don't mind. If you do come into the building, please write your name, time and room number on the white board located near the front doors. This allows everyone to know who is in the building, and if you are the last one to leave the building, will indicate that the alarm needs to be set before you leave. When you leave, also remember to make sure that you erase your name from the board.
In effort to make the most out of our time together, please make sure that you have read the staff handbook prior to Academy. We will send out a form for you to sign verifying that you have read and understand the contents and expectations in a future Monday Memo.
Many thanks to all of you who have already sent me pictures for our back-to-school video. If you haven't done so, there is still time. Please either email me up to 3 photos to share with the group that features a few of the highlights of how you spent your summer, or you may upload them into this Google folder.
Please remember to register in Eduphoria for Academy days. It may be easiest to search by McGowen, and all Academy days that are eligible for credit will be listed as McGowen Academy (date). Also, you will need to register for the C&I days in Eduphoria. The listing is Elementary Academy PD: Deep Dive into Learning (2 day training).
Make today count!

Shoparoo
Did you know that each week I give out jeans passes to the three highest scoring staff members on Shoparoo? I know that many of you have already joined, but if you haven't, it is not too late. Simply go to www.shoparoo.com to create your account. If you use veft4467 as a referral code, McGowen will earn money for you just signing up. Please feel free to push this information out to your parents as well. Once you sign up, Shoparoo will give you a referral code for your parents to use when they sign up. Schools with just 40 supporters are earning an average of $1,000 every year.
Congratulations to Krista Daniel, Jennifer Little and Ashley O'Connor for being the highest three staff contributors to Shoparoo this week!
