Donations for Family in Need

We are collecting donated items for a student whose family had a house fire. The family (a 5th-grade girl, her Mother, and Grandmother) are currently displaced. It will take months to have the situation fixed and the family has already experienced a loss in the past year

Please consider donating items such as toiletries, clothing - size - adult large (for student and her mother) and XL (for grandmother), a gift card, or any personal items a 5th grade girl might like. If you would like to donate cash, we can put all the money collected to get a gift card to Walmart or Shop Rite.

The student does not want others to know what happened so we are keeping her name confidential.

Jennifer Robertiello offered her office as a drop point for collecting donations.

Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.

We will collect donations until this Friday, May 26th.

Please contact Ms. Chamoun with any questions.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I can and I will. End of story.

The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines Perseverance as "continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition." Perseverance means to keep on trying, even when there seems to be little hope, because it is the right thing to do. It means never giving up, even when its hard.

As we near the end of the school year, we all need to reminded that perseverance is a tool that will help us succeed. Never ever give up, especially when its hard or tough!

I challenge you as educators to model perseverance to your students. Work hard, try hard, and you will succeed!

Below are some websites and videos with a lot of tips and ideas about persevering. The ideas are great to share with your students, but also you will find some tips to use yourself as we finish out the school year.

Don't Forget to Eat your Fruits and Veggies!

“Eat More Fruits & Vegetables Day” is on May 25th. It is the first national holiday dedicated to the idea that eating more fresh fruits and veggies can be good for your health and good for your life.

Below is a list of some websites that you can share with your students and their families. They list good ideas to inspire children to eat more veggies and fruits. You can even use these ideas with your own children at home. Bon Appetit!
