Family Communication May 10, 2021

The Board of Directors held a special meeting on Saturday, May 8, to interview preliminary finalists for the superintendent position. The Board has identified three finalists who will move forward in the process:

  • Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh, Executive Director, Instructional Leadership (ILED)/Area Supervisor of Secondary Schools (aka Area Superintendent) - Resume
  • Dr. Jay Jordan, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Bellingham School District - Resume
  • John Boyd, Superintendent Quincy School District - Resume

Finalists are scheduled to visit the district on May 11, 12 and 13 to meet with various employee groups and participate in a community forum each night at 6:00 PM.

  • Tuesday, May 11- Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh
  • Wednesday, May 12 - Dr. Jay Jordan
  • Thursday, May 13 - John Boyd

On To Middle School!!

This Wednesday, both PSMS and SMS are offering virtual meet & greets to deliver important information and to answer questions about the transition to middle school.

Stanwood Middle School

When: This Wednesday, May 12th

Time: 2:00 pm

This Google Meet will include information from SMS Principal, Mr. Klundt; Assistant Principal, Ms. Christmas; and Counselor, Ms. Fox, about what to expect in middle school. Both parents and students are invited to attend. This meet will be recorded for later viewing.

Port Susan Middle School

When: This Wednesday, May 12th

Time: 2:00 pm

This meet will include information shared by Principal, Cherae Almanza; Assistant Principal, Crysty Auckland; and Counselor, Keli Niegemann. Both parents and students are encouraged to attend. After the presentation, a recording will be sent by email along with registration information.

• Local success stories

• Your ideas for positive change
