AEHS WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
March 5, 2023
Good evening, Titans.
I want to take a moment to say "thank you" to our PTSA and parents for you unwavering support of our staff, students, and community. It is because of you our students were treated to hearing a very powerful story from a former child soldier last week, Mr. Emmanuel Jal. His story was and is not only powerful, but also very uplifting, and timely, considering all we have been challenged to face these past few years.
I want to also thank you for your support with our first whole-school Career Day. Wow! What a success! Thanks to you and MANY of our staff members, we were able to have one presenter assigned to each classroom, each period throughout the day, and have a few presenters on standby waiting to be called into action. Thank you to our Student Ambassadors, building services, secretarial, and counseling and administrative staffs for their support, as well to everyone who simply lent a hand to support.
A special thank you goes out to Mr. Scott Keenum of Teachers Federal Credit Union who provided sandwiches for each of our presenters. And of course, a huge shout out to Ms. Alyson Gordon, our assistant principal who planned and organized Career Day, and really made it come to life. Well done!
As the sun shines brightly today, this is a reminder that we are moving into our spring athletic season, which also means we are at the mid-way point of MP3, and MP4 is just around the corner. Interim reports are available on March 9, and the marking period comes to a close on March 30. Also, with the spring comes "Spring Clean Up" and I want to encourage you to purchase mulch from our Athletic Boosters so you can beautify your yards. Please see more information below.
Have an amazing week!

PTSA Fundraiser Share Out (NEW)
The Titan Trove was a resounding success - raising more than $28,000 to support our staff and students. Big thanks goes out to Stacy Miller and her committee for organizing our inaugural online auction and to all Titan families and community members who donated items and participated in the auction. This funding will be used to support things like teachers' mini grants and after prom.

SAT School Day (REPEAT)
The message below was previously shared via email on Wednesday, February 8.
Good evening, Einstein Students and Parents/Guardians:
I am writing to share that the SAT Exam will be offered to every junior (Class of 2024) for free (no cost!) on Wednesday, March 22nd from 7:45am-12:00pm. Every junior is already registered and will not need to register for this test at any point; they only need to arrive to school on test day by 7:30am.
Freshman, sophomores, and seniors who wish to sit for the SAT may register by completing this Google Form by Wednesday, March 1st. The cost for these students is $60 or $8 for students who qualify for free and reduced meals. These students will receive a bill for the test by March 8th and must pay for the test before March 22nd. Students who register and pay but do not sit for the exam will not receive a refund.
Please note that we are still organizing the schedule and list of activities for non-test takers for that day, but that information will be released by Wednesday, March 8th.
If you have any questions, please contact me at Aliciamarie_J_Johnson@mcpsmd.org.
Thank you!
Aliciamarie Johnson, Assistant Principal and School Testing Coordinator

Einstein is also collecting donations in hopes of running our own "Project Prom" of sorts in early April! The purpose is to collect gently used prom attire for students, to reduce the cost associated with proms.
Teens within our Einstein community who are in need of formal wear will have the opportunity on a Saturday in early April to come and select what they need at no cost to them! The media center will be accepting the following donations until March 17th:
- Gently worn or new dresses (sizes 0-26) (prom, bridesmaids, cocktail and after five)
Gently worn or new shoes (sizes 0-12) (strappy sandals, pumps, mid to high heels, men's dress shoes)
Gently worn tan pants, dress pants (any size for all genders)
Ties, purses, bow ties, any accessories!
Thank you for your time and contributions we are hoping the combined effort enables young adults who participate in Project Prom not only to look their best, but feel their best on this special occasion!!
