Wonderful Works of Art Coming Soon!!
Wednesday, April 17th from 5-8, we will have our annual art show in the cafeteria. Your child will have a framed work of art on display that will be available for purchase. The cost of this frame is $20. (Your child's artwork will come home at the end of the year during celebrations in their portfolio if you choose to not purchase the artwork). The art program will earn one dollar from each frame sale that will go towards buying color sharpies for our classroom! Also, we will have multiple projects on display this year! Kindergarten and 1st-grade students are working hard on a class collaborative project inspired by the artist, Dale Chihuly, and his glass work. 2nd-grade students are working with textiles to create beautiful Ojos de Dios from Mexico, also known as the God's Eye weavings. 3rd-grade students are creating pop-out color wheel books that include the challenging skills of origami, while the 4th and 5th grades have been pulling together their paintings and weaving skills to create beautiful circle loom paintings. This year's art show demonstrates the wide arrange of talents our students hold and I'm so proud to present their fine work to our community. I hope you can join us and celebrate the creative talent of our pioneers!

From the Nurse
Dear 5th Grade Parents—The IN State Dept. of Health has released the new immunization requirements for the 2019/20 school year. The requirements follow this notice.
What this means for your students:
Current 5th-grade students need to obtain shots for middle school. Tdap, MCV4 are the required shots prior to 6th grade.
This list of updates means that it is imperative to call your student’s doctor today to schedule an appointment before school starts at the end of July. Please do not delay—appointments for well-child visits will be necessary and many children in Indianapolis need to have shots. Students are expected to have the necessary shots when school begins.
Once your 5th grader has obtained the needed immunizations, please provide an updated copy of the immunization record to the school nurse at your elementary (if obtained this school year). The record will be forwarded to the middle school and no further action needed on your part at the beginning of next year.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and feel free to call Mrs. Davis, RN at 317-860-4289 if any questions.
Jump Rope for Heart
Miss Roberts would like to thank everyone who helped support this year's Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser event. Adams Elementary raised $12,817.17 for the American Heart Association. The money our school raised will help fund potentially lifesaving research and support programs in our own community. Thank you again for your continued support and thanks for being a Heart Hero!
