What kinds of music, movies, and fashions were popular at the time?
The fashion was baggy jeans, big solid colored shirts, jerseys, Air Force ones, and accessories with your name on them, belts and earrings. The music was a lot of rap music, and punk rock bands. The movies were mostly comedies with many movies including Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey.
What were your favorite activities in middle school? What were your hobbies and interests?
I liked to play basketball, wiffleball, and I loved to be outside with my friends.
What/job/interests/activities do you have now? Is there a connection between what you like back then and what you enjoy now?
I now have a job for Team Epic, a life-style and marketing company as a coordinator. I also have the the same interests, except now, I like politics.
What was the best part about being in middle school?
The best part was playing middle school sports.
What was the worst part?
The worst parts were playing in the band, how long the lunch lines were, and having to sit in your assigned seat at lunch.
How would describe your middle school self?
I would say I am the same as right now, but less quiet. Active, serious, shy, and respectful.
What advice about growing up would you give to kids my age?
Stay active and play outside. Have fun and find something you like and read about it. Also, maintain good grades.
Was moving on from middle school to high school difficult?
I had more responsibility. I had to get a job and I needed to be more responsible for my actions.
What is one thing a teacher or someone said to you that you kept in your mind?
Work to change the things you can, and learn to accept those you can't.
