Veterans Day - "Lest We Forget"
Thanksgiving Baskets
The Holicong Community (students, staff, and families) have a long tradition of making Thanksgiving Baskets for local families who struggle for various reasons. Student Council provides the turkeys. Our students donate canned goods, non-perishable food (like pasta, rice, condiments),and non-food items. Our staff members provide the trimmings and perishable food items. If your family is able to help – that would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping to make 12-15 Thanksgiving Baskets. All donations should be sent in by Thursday, November 15th. Thank you for your support of this tradition.
RED RIBBON WEEK AT HOLICONG
November 12th – 16th Holicong Middle School will observe Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week recognizes all of the men, women, and children who have lost their lives in the fight against drugs - those afflicted by drug abuse, as well as the innocent victims. In Homeroom on Monday all students and staff will receive a red wristband to wear for the week.
The students of POPS (Power of Positive Students) have come up with themes and slogans for each day to help provide positive messages and healthy alternatives to getting involved with drugs. We hope everyone (students and staff) will participate. Parents are also encouraged to use this week and the themes to talk with your adolescents.
