From Dr. Yanni's Desk...
Celebrating Student Successes - Tonight we are excited to honor students for their successes in both academics and athletics. From academic achievements to athletic prowess, our students show us time and again how wonderful they are. We are incredibly proud of our students for their perseverance and dedication they demonstrate!
American Education Week - We thank all those parents, guardians, and families who visited our schools and classrooms during American Education Week. The week provided many opportunities to see, first-hand, the teaching and learning happening in UD!
Robotics Competitions - The SRMS Robotics Team won the Inspiration Award at the FIRST LEGO robotics competition that was held at Archbishop Wood on Saturday, December 8th. Adam Doan is the SRMS club mentor.
Data Presentation - At last week's Education Committee meeting we discussed our comprehensive performance data. The presentation is live on our website and a new feature, the Data Workbook, is available by reviewing the presentation. The Data Workbook provides additional information about how our District is performing.
Equity Work Update - On Thursday, our UDHS students will have the opportunity to participate in Unity in the UD Community: Sharing Diverse Perspectives & Insight for a More Inclusive and Welcoming UDHS Community. Also, students in our Faith-Based subcommittee have begun planning for our Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
Sandy Run Middle School FAQ Document - As we move through the SRMS construction project, we will continue to add to the FAQ document that is located on our website. Our hope is that the FAQ document provides reference information as we move toward construction and the eventual opening of the new school.
Kudos for Quick-Action - We recently had a "lock out" across our entire District as a result of an incident that occurred in Whitemarsh Township. We would like to thank everyone in the District for quick action in putting our security measures into place. As a reminder, our District practices various safety drills and collaborates with our local police to ensure that we are as prepared as possible to respond to emergency situations.
Virtual Coffee Talk - Our virtual "Coffee Talk" will take place tomorrow evening (12/11) from 7-8PM on Facebook. Please consider joining us!
Receiving eNotifications - One of the primary ways we communicate with parents, families, and the community is via eNotifications/emails. If you are not signed up to receive notification - or if you are unsure if you are or are not - contact the office at your child's school.
In Closing - We would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. Whatever holiday you celebrate, may it be wonderful for you! Please take some time to attend one of our concerts to hear the beautiful music our students make.
