"March comes in like a Lion and out like a Lamb!" Hoping we do not have any snowstorms in the month of March! The children are anxious to get outdoors again in warm weather! There are many things on our activity calendar for the month of March. Please take a peek as Kids Center is packed full of parent communication, Fall Contracts dates, Scholastic Book Fair Family Night and we welcome the first day of spring.
The children will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday on March 2nd, 2023. In celebration of this outstanding children's author, many books will be shared and maybe even taste some "Green Eggs and Ham"!
Teddy Bear Portraits will be at GEARS on Monday, March 6th for Preschool Picture Day.
March 12th, don't forget to change your clocks one hour ahead!
Fall Contracts 2023-24 school year for our internal families will be distributed on March 6th. We are again, offering half price registration fees (25.00 and 12.50). March 24th is the due date to enroll for the 23-24 school year, after this date we will be opening enrollments to the Community.
Attached below is the sign-up sheet link for the April 6th Early Dismissal Day and April 10th for the Non-school Day. Please note to please sign up your children through the link, so we can adjust our staffing schedule for the correct ratios. Please note that GEARS Kids Center is closed on Good Friday, April 7th for the Easter Weekend.
On March 10th (Non-School Day) we will participate in a demonstration from the Susquehanna Service Dogs organization. After the demonstration, GEARS Kids Center will present a $145.00 donation to the organization from the sale of Valentine Animal Grams. A pizza lunch will be provided for this day. This link for attendance on March 10th has already been sent, as well as the Early Dismissal Day on March 9th.
Friday, March 17th kicks off our Annual Scholastic Book Fair from 4 to 6 pm. Please see below for more details. Dinner will be served and we will have some Storybook Characters join us in celebration of literacy.
The book fair will be on the gym stage from March 17th to March 23rd. The "Book Fair Store" will be open Monday through Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Note: Scholastic Inc. has shared with us that we will not have access to the credit card machine as we have had in the past. Please be prepared to pay by check or with exact change. Sales tax does need to be charged on the books per Scholastic, Inc.
Playground updates: Our current swing set will be replaced early March with a new piece of equipment. We will add new mulch as well. A reminder to please be sure your children have appropriate outerwear and footwear to play outside whether on mulch or on our black top areas at the sites.
