Course Update
9/16/2015
Hello!
This is a reminder that grades have been updated. At your earliest convenience, please log in to the course and review your student's progress at www.gavirtualschool.org. If your student has maintained a grade of 80% or higher in the course, then they are completing assignments on time. However, a grade lower than 80% may indicate limited participation and assignments not completed by the due date. When you are looking at the grades, if there is a zero that means the student did not turn in or complete that assignment. Remember, assignments can be submitted up to a week past the due date before the zero becomes permanent. Although for every school day the assignment is submitted late a 10% late penalty will be applied, it is still better than getting a zero for an assignment.
The most helpful tool for succeeding in Georgia Virtual School is for students to follow their course schedule. In the course schedule students will find the assignments for which they should be completing daily and each assignment’s corresponding due date. There is a direct correlation to following the schedule daily and being successful in the class. In fact, it is impossible to pass the course without following the course schedule. Course schedules can be found in your student’s syllabus that can be downloaded from the course information widget on the right side of the course homepage.
Continuing good habits in the course will help in continuing a successful semester. Please encourage your student to check email and news announcements daily, read feedback on all assignments, and following the daily schedule of completing and turning in assignments. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for supporting your student in this course.
