Greetings,
I hope you had a safe and restful break. Our school year is going quickly. Thanksgiving is just a month away as is the end of our first trimester. Let’s continue to work together to support the online learning of our students. The learning advocates greatly appreciate your partnership in this adventure. They are proud of the progress students are making thus far, as well as the persistence and commitment they are showing.
Here are some important new updates and reminders for this week:
- Requesting a transition to in-person: If you would like to request a transition to in-person learning for trimester 2, please send me a direct message with your request by November 19. We’ll be working closely with our partners across the district to consider all requests and support smooth transitions.
- Conferences: There is still time! Parent-teacher conferences are an awesome opportunity for school and family to partner in your child’s learning experience. We appreciate all that we learn from you about your child. We hope that you find the conversations to be of equal value. If you haven’t made an appointment to meet with your child’s learning advocate, please reach out to them to do so. Their schedules are flexible, and they look forward to meeting with you.
- Attendance line: Please call the attendance line, 763-600-5209, to report student absences due to illness, appointments, and vacation.
- Picture Day: Picture Day for online students is November 1 at the District Services Center. The suggested schedule is below. If you have multiple children and want to make one trip, please feel free to do so. Health and safety protocols will be followed for this event. Pictures will be taken at the Spring Lake Park Schools’ District Services Center at 1415 81st Ave. NE, Spring Lake Park, MN.

Watch for an email request: Information needed by the state of Minnesota
Families will be receiving individual requests in the next few days to complete information for their student/family based on new requirements from the state of Minnesota. The information requested covers ethnicity and race as well as student access to Internet and electronic devices at home. The information schools report to the state and federal government is confidential and not identifiable at the individual level.
Watch for an email from info@campus.district16.org with the subject line "Update student information by Nov. 30" that will arrive in the next few days with instructions for completing the requested information in Campus Parent Portal. The process should take less than 5 minutes to complete.
