CHS SECOND SEMESTER GRADING
Students will earn a letter grade for the second semester, which will be a combination of their 3rd quarter grades and work completed during 4th quarter. The instructional focus of the assignments is to provide preparation for the next grade level, and will be delivered virtually or through hard copy resources. The following guidelines will be utilized for high school grading:
Work completed during the 4th quarter can only improve 3rd quarter grades.
Grades in infinite Campus will not accurately reflect the final semester grade.
A max of 2 assignments per week will be input into a teacher’s gradebook per the due dates assigned by the teacher.
A student’s grade can only improve by one letter grade.
Students who do not engage in online learning opportunities, or who cease to actively complete 4th quarter instructional activities, will receive their grades as they were posted at the end of 3rd quarter.
No finals will be included in the semester grade.
Any student failing can be given work to bring the grade up to passing.
All assignments will be graded for "Satisfactory Completion" and will not receive a letter grade or percentage grade per assignment. The teacher will indicate if the assignment was "satisfactorily completed" and provide feedback to the student.
To achieve the letter grade increase for the course, a student must complete 75% of the 4th quarter assignments.
Students completing text-based packets will have their work assessed later in the semester and be awarded the grade increase if the assignments from both April and May meet the 75% satisfactory completion standard.
For students in elective classes without internet access, please contact your elective teacher to receive alternate assignments.
ACKNOWLEDGE, CARE, TELL
