Dear Families,
What a crazy week! Who would have ever guessed we'd have two snow days back to back?! I hope our cancellations didn't impose too much of a burden on your personal and professional schedules, and that you were able to enjoy some extra time with your families.
We have officially reached the 4th quarter, believe it or not! Midterm grades for this semester are now available for you to view in your Infinite Campus portal.
Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Have a great weekend.

Holocaust Survivor to Speak at Manning: Thursday, March 21
In conjunction with the 7th-grade reading of The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank in Language Arts classes, Holocaust survivor, Sara Moses, will recount her story in an assembly on Thursday, March 21, 2:00-3:25. According to the Denver Post, Moses was 1 year old in 1939 when Nazis attacked her Polish town and began subjugating the Jewish population there. "We were called the illegals. We were not allowed to talk on the streets. Our homes were taken away from us," said Moses, now 79. Moses was sent to the Piotrkow ghetto and then to the Ravensbruck concentration camp. She was one of the youngest children at the camp.
We thank our generous PTA for sponsoring this enrichment opportunity.

PLC Update
At Manning, we strive to live our core values every day.
HONESTY
- Jordan Chang comes in every day with a smile and an honest heart. He believes and core values and when confronted about anything, he always tells the truth.
EFFORT
- Alexa Lewis worked really hard during Big History while the rest of the group didn't work as hard. She really showed effort and helped us to get a really good grade.
- Sammy always has extra pencils and comes prepared everyday and when i forget a pencil she lets me borrow one
- Mrs. Norton and Mrs. Mendez were very kind and extremely helpful with all state. Also they helped include everyone.
- Jack Ruhl is always trying his best in every class and puts in all his effort into his grades.
- Mr. Molinare is a phenomenal example of Mannings' definition of effort. Today in class this teacher made a survey to ask his students to reflect on his class. In his reflection that he made for us, he not only asked about things like homework and if it was at the right level of work for us but also he asked how he can help prepare us for our test on Monday. I would like to thank Mr. Molinare my social studies teacher who in class talked about preparing us for our test by creating a safe yet fun, creative yet educational live stream for his students to make the best of there coming test. This act of effort made my day and shows how Mr. Molinare is always thinking of his students with making his class unique, fun and educational.
- Ava Mapes always works hard on her school work and helps all of her friends when they are in need
- Our whole friend group left the field but Jordan Chang stayed to pick up the balls left
ACHIEVEMENT
- Congratulations to all of our band and orchestra students for an amazing performance this week. You have been dedicated to improving as musicians, putting in a lot of time outside of class after school and on weekends. On Tuesday night, all your effort showed and you sounded incredible.
RESPECT
- Lucia Ficco always encourages others and she can make you smile on your worst days. Not only this, but she is honest with everyone and never discludes anyone.
- Evan Reeves is always in a positive attitude, and it's contagious. He approaches every day, every situation, every friendship, and every interaction with a kind and mature approach. Thanks, Evan!
- When I fell in the hall, Jasmine helped me pick up my things and not be late.
TEAMWORK
- Thank you, Ms. Garcia-Lee, for working with me in regards to "vertical teaming" from 6th-grade traditional language arts to 7th-grade traditional language arts. It's nice to talk about how we can support each other as teachers, and our students!
- Our friend group was arguing and Caroline West helped regulate the chaos until we forgave one another
- Noah Johnson always makes me happy and or laugh when I'm sad and he's a great friend
- To Rosie, for letting me wear her sweatshirt
- I was struggling in math and Carly Brandes offered to tutor me now my grade is higher! Thanks Carly!
- I like how Mr. Jonson is always helping us. He makes me want to get my work done.
- When i got behind because I was sick, Kaitlyn Mitchel helped me get caught up on every thing and If I was struggling with something she would always be the one to help me and she is just a great friend.
