Final Day of School

What an exciting day we had with our Wildcats! It is hard to believe that another school year is over. If your child was absent today, please stop in the office sometime this week to pick up a drawstring backpack. Inside you will find our summer reading book- The Lemonade War , information about our Summer Meet- Ups and your child's report card.

Summer Check-ins One District One Book

Dear Families~

This year, we have scheduled several check-ins over the summer to motivate and challenge students to continue their learning over the summer months.

We had such a great turn out at the Splash Pad last summer, we will continue to meet at the Woodhaven Community Center near the Splash Pad, if the weather is sunny, or under the pavillion, if we have rainy weather.

Summer Check-ins

Thursday, June 20- 12:00-1:00

Thursday, July 18- 6:00-7:00

Thursday, July 25- 12:00-1:00

Thursday, August 8- 6:00-7:00

Thursday, August 22-12:00-1:00

Students will receive tickets for reading logs, Math BINGO activity, and reading The Lemonade War. They will use their tickets to enter drawings for various gift cards. (Rev’d Up, Target, AMC, Zap Zone, and Sportway)

Each check-in will have a treat, and a sucker pull for a chance to win a DQ gift card.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Summer Check-in!

Have a great summer!

Help Reduce Summer Learning Loss

Our Wildcats have worked so hard all year! We do not want them to fall behind. All IXL and Raz kids log in credentials will work all summer from your home. Please encourage your child to do a little bit every few days. It really does help!

PLEASE encourage your child to read daily. A weekly trip to the library is a wonderful memory making event that has lasting effects on your child's achievement.

We are excited to get new technology installed in the classrooms over the summer! These will be large interactive boards. We wish the best of luck to Ms. Candyce who will be one of the secretaries at BMS next year along with Miss Darnell who will be a math teacher at Patrick Henry Middle School.
