LOSING STREAK OVER

Congrats to the Boys Varsity Basketball team on their win against Coleman. Feb. 22, 2013 was the last time that the boys team has won a basketball game.

If you have had the opportunity to watch a boys varsity game this year, you would have seen a group of young men that had several goals. One being to change the culture and perception of the teams character on and off the court. The second goal is to break the long time losing streak that has occurred.

First year Head Coach Jason Pratt has done just that. Coach Pratt has established leaders on his team to take control of the attitude in practices and on the court. Coach Pratt has been able to get his team to work hard in every game and in every situation. The outcomes are not always what we want, yet the hard work and sportsmanship displayed is a true example of WINNING that we are looking for.

John Wooden stated: "Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming." Coach Pratt and his Varsity Boys Basketball team has done just that and I believe will continue to keep fighting hard on and off the court.

Congrats gentlemen. GO VANDALS #WEAREMERRILL
