Week of April 16-20
Eastside Mission
Eastside Vision (Rough Draft)
Working in partnership with the community, Eastside elementary will provide all students:
A collaborative team of professionals who are committed to improve their practices so that all students learn at high levels.
A safe, positive, and inviting learning environment.
An engaging and challenging curriculum focused on essential academics and life skills.
Individualized and timely support that provides students with what they need to succeed.
You guys are superhuman!
Also, watch the Steve Hartman "On the Road" clip about the Key to Success. This is such an inspirational story and a great picture of growth mindset.
MAP PM Success Story
To Do List for the Week:
1. We will have PROWL Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as normal. Thursday, we will have a quick staff meeting at 7:45 in the team meeting room. (Any subs or interns need to help Ms. Turner, Ms. Landrith, and Ms. Cardin in the PE building with students on Thursday.) Friday, we will go straight to class, so everyone can take attendance, lunch count, and deliver money to the office prior to the Testing Bash. We will start calling for students at 8:30 to report to the cafeteria and will start the Bash at 8;45. It's going to be epic!!!
2. No MAP progress monitoring this week and No Dibels PM this week. SIT commenting on grades K-2.
3. Find a recess time this week and go play with your relationship kids. This week will be the last week to make a connection prior to testing for most grades.
4. Team meeting is on Wednesday. We will go back to the experimental team time for grades 3-5. Leadership team members will complete the agenda. It can be found on the Google site under Team Time for all to view prior to meeting.
5. Turn in all money to the office by 9:00 AM. Make sure you count this money prior to sending it down to the office and have the total written on a note. Let Mrs. Dunlap or Mrs. Wallace know if you have questions about this.
6. Make sure to work on covering your classrooms this week in prep for testing next week. Ms. Cardin will be covering the computer lab for grades K and 1 for MAP.
7. Student data notebooks: This week, let's get back to the data notebooks. Mrs. Wallace and I will be printing out MAP and ACT Aspire reports for individual data conferences. 3rd and 4th grade needs to discuss Aspire reports with each kid this week to prepare for next week. K and 1 need to discuss Map reports with each kid this week to prepare for their testing. 2nd and 5th grade will have data notebook conversations next week. We will have these reports to you by end of day on Monday. Make sure students know the proficiency levels they are striving for. If they are already at proficiency, discuss what type of growth they should still have.
8. Leadership team will meet on Tuesday at 7:40 in the team meeting room. You will not have your PROWL group that morning. Make sure to let your kids know on Monday.
Other Updates:
- Retention conferences will be held the week of May 14th. Please get the retention recommendation forms from the office and have them filled out and ready for the conference you schedule for parents. Please make a copy for my files and get it to me as soon as you have filled it out.
- There are many special events and field trips coming up after testing is complete. Please make sure you notify the cafeteria at least two weeks in advance of the dates you will not be eating in the cafeteria or dates you will need sack lunches made.
- Make sure your classroom doors are locked at all times.
