Assessment
Mid-Year Scantron Assessment
The window for the Mid-Year Test is January 2 through February 21, 2020.
- Mandatory testing for newly enrolled students not tested in the fall, and students scoring in Quartiles 1 and 2 on the Baseline Test.
- Recommended for all students in grades 2 through 8 as a progress check.
- Optional for Kindergarten and 1st grade students.

St. Mary School in Bryantown, MD is seeking a spiritual and educational leader for grades Pre-K-8 for the 2020-21 school year. St. Mary’s School adheres to the philosophy provided by the Archdiocese of Washington, which provides guidance on several aspects of the educational program. Perhaps more importantly a summary of St. Mary’s mission statement includes: a call to teach the message of Jesus Christ; the promotion of the self-esteem, moral and spiritual values of students; the creation of a strong Christian community within the parish; and the provision of an excellent educational program that empowers children to achieve their potential and impact the local and global community.
Principals in the Archdiocese of Washington shall be practicing Catholics who uphold the teaching of the faith and are committed to Catholic education that is academically excellent and rooted in Gospel values. Qualified candidates for St. Mary School should be a certified catechist or demonstrate continuing progress towards attaining catechist certification in no more than three (3) years after date of hire and hold a Master's degree from an accredited institution in educational administration, curriculum development or an approved related educational field, They also will possess or be eligible for a Maryland, Virginia or District of Columbia educational administration certification and have a minimum of five (5) years of instructional experience, preferably in Catholic schools.

C-Span Summer Job
Are you considering professional development opportunities for next summer? The application process for C-SPAN's Summer Teacher Fellowship is now open.
C-SPAN's Fellowship program is for educators who have experience using C-SPAN's programming in the classroom and can demonstrate innovative methods of incorporating those programs into educational experiences.
For four weeks in July 2020, Fellowship recipients will collaborate with C-SPAN's education team at our offices in Washington, DC to develop new teaching materials using C-SPAN resources. Each Fellow receives a stipend of $7,000 to cover housing, travel and living expenses. Fellows also participate in C-SPAN's Summer Educators' Conferences where they share their ideas and experiences using C-SPAN's programs with conference attendees.

Applications must be received by Friday, March 13, 2020.
Application Requirements
All candidates must be:
- A member of C-SPAN Classroom
- A state certified middle or high school teacher of U.S. History, Civics, Government or related curriculum
- Experienced with integrating C-SPAN's programming and resources into educational curriculum
- Available for four consecutive weeks from July 6 through July 31, 2020
The application for the Summer Educators' Conference will be available in January 2020.
