- February 20, 2019, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Building Socio-Emotional Skills in Your Elementary School Child. In this workshop parents will learn how to attend to the socio-emotional development of their child while also setting appropriate limits and following through on consequences.

- March 13, 2019 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Reading is Fundamental! (K-5) Reading is fundamental to function in today’s society and in developing a good self-image. One of the most effective approaches to help a child develop literacy skills is having a home environment that encourages reading in daily life. Parents will learn how to support the development of their child’s literacy at home.

News from the OCE School Counselors
First up, please take note that February 4 - 8 is National School Counselors Week!
Second, be on the lookout for more information on an upcoming week of RAK = Random Acts of Kindness, February 18 - 22. The school counselors will be doing activities with the children at OCE. We encourage families to talk with their kids about their RAK check-off sheet for showing kindness at home and at school.
You can keep up with the counselors and contact them through their website.

Bundle up and get some steps in before school. We are going to support Western Wake Crisis Ministry by donating non-spaghetti pasta like bow ties or elbows…so take your Clipper to the pasta aisle and let them pick a favorite plain pasta to donate to WWCM! Please bring these with you on your walk.
