Week of December 7
Notes from Dr. Valadez
Team NDFP,
Everyone should be back to their normal routines and focusing on providing high quality instruction to our students. This week, you and your teachers will be working diligently in preparing our students to do their absolute best on the ACP exams. As we begin to get data, take the time to celebrate the gains and reflect on the deficits at each of your campuses. I encourage you to use the data as an indicator of where you should focus your efforts for the upcoming semester.
Remember that one of our January days is considered a teacher work day. Most campuses are utilizing January 4 as the PD Day and January 5 as a teacher work day.

Just In Time Sessions
- All CIC's are to attend the Carnegie Learning training
- All CIC's are to present the PD to their campuses
- All CIC's are assigned "homework" to bring back to each of the sessions
I encourage you to meet with your CIC's and schedule a time for the PD to be turned around at your campus. The feedback is that there is not enough time with all of the compliance training. A quick solution is to allow your CIC's to turn the PD around on the upcoming January PD Day. The PD is turn key. CICs are given the presentation along with corresponding materials.

Writing Samples and Exemplars
Grade 4 and 7 expository essays now available on MyData Portal. Encourage your teachers and CICs to review these exemplars (score of 7 or 8) during PLCs and make the connections to the Writing Rubric.
