Students Lead the Pledges
Board Commendations
The Board commended Boerne ISD students and staff, as well as celebrated district-wide honors. Below are some of the honorees.
State ChampionsCongratulations to the 2022 Class 4-A State Champion Boerne Greyhounds Boys Soccer Team! The Greyhounds won their second straight state title by defeating Celina 2-1 in overtime in the state championship match. Jess Gonzales scored the championship-clinching goal on a penalty kick in overtime for the Greyhounds, while Goalkeeper Noah LeMaster made five saves to earn Most Valuable Player honors. Boerne went 7-0 in the playoffs and outscored their opponents by a total of 39-6 in the postseason. The Greyhounds finished their historic season with a 27-2-1 record, including a 27-match unbeaten streak to close out the season. | Bronze MedalistsCongratulations to the 2022 State Semifinalist Boerne Greyhounds Girls Soccer team. The Chargers defeated district foe Veterans Memorial to win the regional championship for the first time ever. In the state semifinal the Chargers played a hard-fought game against Mansfield Timberview to earn the State Bronze Medal. Senay Heckel placed 3rd in Professional Presentation, Emery Stewart placed 5th in Teach and Train, putting them among the top finishers in the entire state. FCCLA is the only career and technical in-school student organization with the family as the central focus. Participation in state and national programs and chapter activities help members become strong leaders in family, careers, and communities. FCCLA State Success

Congratulations to the President’s Volunteer Service Award Winners from Boerne and Champion High School.
In 2003, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation founded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too.
This year, a total of 13 students volunteered a combined 2,209 hours, and all of those hours were here in this community.

Alamo Colleges Success
Since 2018, Boerne ISD students have earned nearly 5,000 credit hours, and families have saved nearly $1.5 million dollars in tuition costs thanks to taking dual credit courses.
The Boerne ISD Class of 2021 earned an average of 18 college credit hours thanks to dual credit.
Boerne ISD and Alamo Colleges will open the first-ever Pathways in Technology Early College High School in August 2022.
Boerne ISD thanks Alamo Colleges for their continued partnership.
Superintendent's Report
-Early voting began on Monday and runs through May 3rd, with election day on May 7th.
-Boerne ISD held the Inaugural Academic, Fine Arts, and Military Signing Day last week and it was a rousing success. Over 100 students chose to participate, with those students earning a total of $5 million in scholarships.
-Boerne ISD held the first meeting with the new Extracurricular Leadership Council students. A record of 185 students signed up to participate in the program.
-Boerne ISD will host the final Student Advisory Council meeting this week. The students were a large part of the Long Range Steering Committee that built the Bond package, as well as other projects.
