New Procedures for Packet Pick-Up

Due to the recommended stay at home order, we have developed new procedures for parent pick up. Starting this Monday, April 6, we will follow these new guidelines:

1) Packets will be available for pick up beginning at 9:00 am each Monday and may picked up at your convenience.

2) Parents will now get out of their car and get the packets from file cabinets.

2) File cabinets are located in the front of the school labeled by grade level and language preference. Please only pick up the packet that you indicated to your teacher you would need.

3) In order to maintain social distancing, only one person is allowed at the file cabinets at a time.

4) Please make sure to follow social distancing guidelines posted on the filing cabinets.

Although our school is closed our teachers are still working on ways to educate our students. If you need help with any of the assignments that are being sent home, we have teachers that can assist your child. You can either reach out to your child’s teacher for assistance or you can send an email to and we will have a teacher contact your child to assist them with their assignments.

Speech Therapy Update

If your child receives Speech Therapy through the school, we are continuing our services through Teletherapy. We can do this by phone, iPad, computer, or any other means. The parent or guardian will receive an email to provide consent. Once the parent has responded to the email the speech services can begin. Our goal is to start our speech services next week. If you have any questions or should need any assistance please contact

If you don’t have technology at home and would like to borrow one from the campus please use the link to request a device. Since we have a limited number of devices, we are providing only one device per family. We generally need about 24-48 hours to fill the request. We will contact you when they are ready for pick-up. Our scheduled pick up dates are Tuesday and Thursday. If devices are not picked up in timely manner the device will be assigned to another family in need.

During the last few weeks we have found ourselves in a place that none of us have ever experienced before. We have made the decision that we are going to move forward with our yearbook. We are looking for pictures of students learning from home that we can add to our yearbook to capture this unique time in history. If you would like to submit pictures please send them to You can also post the pictures on our school Facebook page or Twitter feed. Please see the information at the end of this newsletter.

We are working remotely to complete our yearbook. The yearbook distribution date has been moved to the beginning of the next school year. All yearbooks will be distributed to everyone that purchases one. If students move to another school, the yearbook will be mailed to the student.

Also, if you would like to purchase a yearbook, it is not too late. You can purchase them online by going to The yearbook ID code is 13722520.

Staying Healthy by Practicing Social Distancing

The wellbeing of our students and families is important to us. You can help by talking to your child about healthy practices to prevent the spread of illness such as

  • Wash your hands frequently

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

Distance Learning

We want to thank everyone for their hard work as we continue to learn in this new way. Our teachers continue to learn ways that we can better support you and your students. Beginning this week, students will be graded through a variety of activities. Depending on the grade level, students may have participation grades, assignment grades through Canvas or other digital learning platforms.

These grades will be placed in the gradebook like normal. Parents with Parent Access accounts will be able to access these grades as normal.

If you should have any questions about grades, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.

Counselor Corner

This is all new. You are making sure you family is safe and trying to keep the education going. We see you and appreciate you. It is understandable if this is difficult. We are here to help. Please reach out to me and let me know how I can support your families mental health needs.

So much has happened since we had last seen each other. I want you to know it's ok if this time away from school is hard. I want you to know you can do hard things. I am here to help you. You can ask your parents to send me an email or call me so I can talk to you. One more thing, try to take time to do something that is fun everyday.
