PBIS Information

Follow the PBIS link below for a comprehensive page of Positive Behavior Support information including things you'll need to review before our school's walk-through. The visiting team had to cancel twice last week, so we are uncertain of which day they will come to Madras. Please continue to review the expectations with your students along with the questions.

Milestones Resources

Below are the links shared with you in previous staff meetings or Messengers. They have been originally linked on your staff agendas, but will be left on the Messenger for your convenience.

Eagles' Odds, Ends, and Reminders

  • Lesson Plans: Lesson plans will not need to be submitted again this year until May 2nd.
  • Homework: Do not assign homework, including projects between April 15-27 due to MIlestones Assessment.
  • Advisement: Extended learning time; Teams can decide how to best use this time based on their students' needs (such as flex grouping, reviewing, working on close reading skills, etc.) If you need a non-homeroom teacher to assist, please let Dr. Eskut know. You'll just need to provide directions and materials.
  • Electronic Announcements: Please bookmark this link and type in your announcements before the morning or afternoon announcements. We will read them straight from the form each day.
  • Wednesday Meetings: Please remember to reserve Wednesdays for possible staff/grade level meetings.
  • Computer Lab Key: If you are going to be in the computer lab on the main hallway, please pick up a key from Krissy in the front office before you begin your day and return it when you leave the computer lab. Make sure to lock it before you leave. If we have a Code Yellow or Code Red which would require you to lock down the room, you will have a way to make sure the class is secure. Let Mrs. Johnson know if you have questions.
  • Code Yellow/Red Practice: Please make sure to consistently practice Code Drills with students (including, red, yellow, blue, fire, tornado). Our goal is to review and practice with students monthly between drills.
  • Late Bus Supervision: If you are responsible for coordinating late bus supervision during your assigned week, please plan ahead and make sure everyone on your supervision team knows the day he/she is responsible for and choose a location for students. Most days we will not need anyone for a late bus, but we do have occasional times when there is no driver and students are on a second load. The front office will call the coordinator as soon as the school is contacted about the late bus, and will alert the leader. Please let Johanna or Krissy know where the students should report. Teachers can tag team or take individual days. Again, most days it's not needed.
  • TKES Walk-Throughs: Remember, you will not need to sign off on any TKES walkthroughs until an admin gives you the go-ahead. The observation will be shared, but you will not sign-off on walk-throughs yet. Let us know if you have questions.

Remember Our Goal: Connect with Five Students Daily

Connect with 5 students (include staff too) who add value by being in your life. Let them know how they make a positive difference in this world. Get to know their stories. Any random act of kindness goes a long way and makes an immediate impact. Kindness is contagious. By modeling this daily, we will begin to see a culture shift with our students. Exiting year to be an EAGLE. Together we're going to do great things!

“Wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.”

—Kevin Heath (CEO More4kids)
